BADGERTRAP hail from Bristol UK, a city that has always attracted mavericks, revolutionaries, troublemakers and radicals. BADGERTRAP’s core is made up of front-man Hal Camplin, Andrew Brown on percussion and Steve Dunk on horn and keyboards. Audiences are entertained by a giant badger called Barry who creates shambolic live stunts. Described mainly by fans as being light and funny and then suddenly challenging.
The sound of this album takes on greater depth as it is fleshed out with horn and piano melody. Equally the vocals conjure up a picture of a man in meltdown. Much the same as man-flu- this is premature man middle-age crisis. There is comical fight in this music!
On recent South coast tour Lynn Hasti Portsmouth RMA said:
They were guitar and drums with a definite punky twang, reminding me of The Pixies, Talking Heads and Violent Femmes at their abstract best. Just as I contemplated how odd it was watching a man in a badger suit, on a stage, rapping, the badger head went and instead I was watching a man sized badger doing the same. Quite, quite unique. You will be glad you’ve found them – get yourself your favourite drink and tap into BADGERTRAP’s surreal feel.
